Exactly 70 years after the original “goblin” encounter, something may have returned to Kelly. In late April 2025, residents on the rural outskirts of Hopkinsville, Kentucky reported a wave of strange occurrences eerily reminiscent of the infamous 1955 Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter, one of the most well-documented UFO and entity sightings in American history.

Locals described bright flashes of light in the woods, clawing or tapping sounds on the sides of their houses, and in one case, a small, three-foot-tall figure with glowing eyes crouching near a backyard shed. The witnesses said the being moved with jerky, “marionette-like” motions and vanished into the darkness when spotted—just like the creatures described by the Sutton family in 1955.

One family captured blurry infrared footage of what appears to be a glinting metallic dome rising just above the treeline before disappearing behind heavy clouds. The camera’s microphone also picked up a high-pitched whirring tone that lasted nearly 12 seconds.

Investigators who arrived on-site found circular impressions in a nearby field and elevated radiation readings near the property’s edge. While skeptics claim it could be pranks tied to the local festival season, the sheer similarity in behavior and setting to the 1955 encounter has stirred excitement—and unease.
