They came. They ran. They got chased by a legendary half-goat cryptid with an axe fetish. 🪓

The usually serene Cherokee Park in Louisville transformed into a cryptid-themed cardio course as runners laced up for the Kentucky Cryptid Series: Goatman Trail Run—a 5-mile endurance test inspired by none other than the Pope Lick Monster. That’s right: the local horned horror allegedly living beneath an old railway trestle is now the face of fitness.

Participants wound through fog-drenched paths and pine-shadowed hills while organizers cranked up eerie howls and cryptid growls over hidden speakers. 🏃‍♀️💨 Some runners came in standard gear. Others? Full Goatman cosplay—complete with cloven hooves, plastic horns, and suspiciously realistic fur.

Local lore tables lined the finish zone, offering tales of the Goatman’s origin—from cursed spirits to top-secret lab accidents. 🎤📜 And in true Cryptid Coffee spirit, vendors served up everything from monster trail mix to “Horned Hydration” drinks (we’re still trying to get that recipe 👀).

The entire event walked the line between spooky and spectacular—and if anyone actually saw Goatman lurking in the tree line… well, they’re probably still running.

☕ Horns Up, Feet Down: If you find yourself sprinting through the woods and hear hooves behind you, it’s either your imagination—or Kentucky’s most misunderstood fitness influencer.
